Pavos have become a sort of rage among the babywearing community, so naturally I needed to get my hands on one. This Pavo Cheetah Wild came up on the Wrap Wanderlust group on Facebook, so I asked if I could join in on it’s travels. When this Pavo showed up on my doorstep, I cannot even tell you how excited I was!

Pros: The quality of the Pavo wraps is top of the line. They are a highly regarded brand in the babywearing world, and are made of plush cotton. The Cheetah is deffinently thick and plush, for sure. When wrapping BabyT on my back, grabbing all the rails to the front, it’s a nice handful of squishy, smooth cotton. It is much thicker than any Girasol wrap, more of a medium thickness, and more comparable with the Kokadi cotton wraps I have tried so far. It offers a lot of cush on the shoulder, and spreads nicely around my back and under BabyT’s legs in a back carry.

This wrap is also very moldable, even though it is thick. I found it to be really easy to wrap with, and get a nice snug carry and tie off. It wraps around and pulls tight without much effort, as it is a very smooth wrap without too much grip. It also offers a lot of support. I tried a few different carries, among them a half Jordan back carry and a hip carry, both of which worked beautifully and felt very supportive with this wrap.

Cons: The cost. Pavos are super popular right now, and are ALL over the babywearing community. While I felt like this wrap is top quality, as well as supportive and plush, I don’t quite see the need for them to be quite so expensive. I would say they are similar to many of the Kokadi cotton wraps I’ve used, and they are a bit less expensive. So a part of me says the cost is purely for the brand name.

Some may also say that this particular wrap is not grippy enough. The patterning in the weave of the wrap is surprisingly smooth, and not as textured as I had expected. I didn’t find this to be an issue, but for someone looking for a wrap that has a heavier texture, possibly for heavier little ones, this wrap is very flat and slick. I did feel like I needed two knots in order to keep everything nice and snug.

The Wrap Up…
I would certainly recommend anyone try a Pavo, you simply need to feel the hype for yourself. I do understand why they are so loved by so many mamas! I’d love to see if the other Pavos have different qualities in their wrappability… are they all plush, squishy and smooth? What Pavos do you have, and what do you love about them?
